Is meniscus and knee ligament surgery performed using laser?

meniscus and knee ligament surgery

Meniscus and knee ligament surgeries are usually performed through two or more small incisions, about half a centimeter or slightly larger. For this reason, they are commonly referred to by the public as “laser surgery.” However, in reality, no laser is used in these procedures. This term has become popular because the knee is not fully opened during the operation and, in most cases, no noticeable surgical scar remains afterward. As a result, this type of surgery is mistakenly known among people as laser surgery.
